We greet a stranger. We send an email to a colleague. We text a message to a friend. We post on social media for all to see. We perform these daily routines without a second thought. We rarely acknowledge the power of a single word, a single gesture that shows someone that you still care.

TEDxPaceAcademy Spring 2021

In a world dominated by social and societal norms, challenging the status quo means thinking and leading and acting in stark contrast to those norms. To challenge the status quo is to boldly sail in intellectual directions few (if any) others have attempted to navigate before. Over the course of an afternoon, Pace students and faculty speakers reflected on personal experiences in brief speeches on topics ranging from multiculturalism and sexist stereotypes to the intersection of identity and social acceptance.
